Shelter Pale Ale poured a clear, amber color with a finger width, off white head. The aroma has some really nice, clean hops with malt overtones. The body is crisp, with a light sweetness up front and is incredibly well balanced. The finish has a light dryness with some faint hops to it.
Shelter is as close to a sessional beer as you will get from Dogfish, who's beers are typically big and bold. This pale is is relatively mild, and a has a little bit more malt than most American pale ales. With all of that being said, this is still a very solid beer and is worth a try.
