Dogfish Head Chicory Stout

Dogfish's Chicory stout is a seasonal stout that is brewed with roasted chicory and organic Mexican coffee. The beer is a mild 5.2% with only 21 IBU's.
Chicory Stout poured a dark brown, blackish color with a thumb width, tan head. The nose has a huge amount of robust coffee, and a light malt aroma underneath. The body is smooth, with dark roasted malt, more coffee, and some hops underneath. The finish is dry and lingers for a bit with a slight bitterness.

Overall, this is a decent beer. Dogfish's Chicory is a solid stout that is big on coffee in both the aroma and body. The fairly mild ABV allows for a few to be had in one session and the ideal food pairing would smoked or BBQ'd meats followed by some dark chocolate.

I'm looking forward to the release of this years beer, hopefully it is only a few months away.

I want to see how it compares to last years.
