Dogfish Head Burton Baton

Burton Baton is "a blend of oak-aged English strong ale and our 90 Minute I.P.A.".

Burton Baton poured a hazy, dark amber color with a frothy, finger width tan head. The nose had a nice balance of malt, hops and sweetness. The body has a substantial amount of malt up front to balance out the big hops that come in on the finish. The finish is hoppy with a lingering dryness.

Overall, this is an amazing blended brew. The big 10% ABV is hidden well and the beer itself is extremely well balanced. The body is deep and smooth with a deep flavor profile. This would pair incredibly well with an Indian, Mexican or Thai dishes.

I too loved this beer. The oak and IPA really worked well together. It was also nice to see they held 10%abv in check. It seems as a bunch of us have reviewed it over the last 2 weeks.

Here is my take on the Burton Baton - http://www.simplybeer.com/blog/2009/08/05/dogfish-head-burton-baton-imperial-ipa/
