Rock Bottom Brewery Chicago Welcomes Head Brewer

Chicago, IL – Rock Bottom Brewery announced today that Davin Bartosch has been appointed Head Brewer for the Chicago location at Grand and State Streets. In his new role, Davin, 33, will implement strategies to promote Rock Bottom craft beers as well as create specialty beers specific to the Chicago restaurant location.

Most recently, Davin was Brewmaster at Rock Bottom Warrenville, here he was implemental in the creation of brewmaster dinners and events including Popfest which he originated three years ago after having a revelation viewing the food network program, “Good Eats”. The fest includes numerous craft beers from area brewers paired with gourmet popcorn and sets the stage for the tapping of Davin’s Popcorn beer, King Puff, a delicate yet tedious craft beer brewing process.

Originally from Memphis, TN, he attended the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga for his undergraduate and graduated with a double major in psychology and anthropology. Davin worked for free for a tiny brewing company, Yazoo, in Nashville TN before deciding to go to brewing school. Davin’s extensive knowledge of brew making was attained through degrees at Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL and Germany’s Doeman’s Institute. His Chicagoland brewing experience has come full circle after getting his start working with Pete Crowley, current brewer / owner of Haymarket pub & brewing company, at the downtown Chicago Rock Bottom.

He resides in Chicago, IL with his a wife, Rachael and son, Bishop. He enjoys racquetball, cooking, and sleazy bars.
