Stoudt's Double IPA (Cask)

Stoudt's Double IPA poured a clear amber color with the head consisting of a thin coat of bubbles sitting on top to the beer. The nose offers plenty, apricots, hops, and malt. The beer has a sweetness up front with a thin malty middle and hops running the course of body. The finish is hoppy and bitter. Call me crazy but there are a few scotch like characteristics in there.

Overall, a solid offering from Stoudt's. The body is a little thin for the style, which might turn off beer nuts who love huge beers, but the depth suits me just fine. The ABV is noticeable but not overwhelming. The cask has added some nice aspects here, making this an enjoyable sipper that screams out to be paired with funky cheese.
