Dogfish Head's Bitches Brew was unveiled at on June 5, 2010 at SAVOR, An American Craft Beer & Food Experience. The beer was created to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Miles Davis' album of the same name. The beer was brewed with honey and gesho root.
Bitches Brew poured a dark brown, blackish color with a finger width, light brown head. The aroma is packed with dark malts, coffee and chocolate stick out. The body is silky smooth, think milk or sweet stout with a fairly substantial sweetness. The finish is mostly dry, with a light bitterness, and some residual sugar. Overall, this is a very nice stout, although not Dogfish's best. It is solid, well made and offers plenty on the palate, but just lacks that unique flavor that so many Dogfish beers offer.
