Red Hook Double Black Stout

In the Fall, Redhook announced their new limited release program. Twice a year, Redhook will release a new and unique handcrafted beer that will be packaged in 22oz bottles. The first beer released was their popular Double Black Stout. The beer was launched in 1995, but Redhook stopped brewing Double Black Stout in 2000. The imperial has an IBU of 47 and an ABV of 7%.

Double Black poured a dark brown, blackish color with a thinner tan head. The nose had plenty of malt, some chocolate, and coffee. The body has lots of roasted malts and a noticable amount of coffee. It is lighter then I expected and a little dry in the body. I like this beer and that is saying something considering the fact that I do not drink coffee.
