SlyFox Pikeland Pils

SlyFox's version of the pilsner poured a cloudy pale yellow color with a big frothy white head. The nose was hoppy and had a floral (pine needles) hint to it. Pikeland was balanced with plenty of hops before moving into a short, smooth, dry finish. This hoppy pilsner is easy drinking and quite good. It would be a perfect complement to Mexican food or a sharp cheese.

Apparently Graig Laban of the Philadelphia Inquirer agrees with me.

Rogue Half-E-Weizen

Rogue Half-E-Weizen is Rogue's unfiltered wheat beer. It pours a clear dark yellow color with a big white head. The nose gives off a smell of deep barley malts. The finish is short to medium length and is pretty hoppy for a wheat beer. This is an okay beer, not bad at all but certainly not Rogue's best effort or the best wheat beer I have ever tasted.

Legacy Hedonism Ale

Legacy's Hedonism Ale poured a reddish amber color with small white head that left lace after settling. The beer has a big aroma with mostly malts and some hops. The first sip offers plenty of strong malts. The hops start to appear in the middle and there is a dry finish. The beer leaves spotted lace from the huge amount of hops and malts that went into this beer. Hedonism is relatively well balanced and does a good job of smoothly flowing between big flavors. I wonder if this beer will round out a little more with some aging. Overall, it is a pretty good beer that you could do a lot worse then.
